Festivals that Unite Hearts in Bhakti

Through seva, sankirtan, and shared joy, we celebrate the presence of Shyam Baba in every moment of life.

Festivals & Celebrations

Shyam Janmotsav

Shyam Janmotsav, also known as Khatu Shyam Ji’s Appearance Day, is the biggest and most awaited festival of ISKASHYAM. It commemorates the divine sacrifice of Barbarik, grandson of Bhima, who offered his head to Lord Krishna before the Mahabharata war and was blessed to be worshipped as Shyam — the giver of boons and refuge to the surrendered.

On this sacred day:

  • Temples are decorated with flowers, lights, and mor pankh (peacock feathers).
  • A special arti is performed at the midnight hour, marking the divine blessing of Shyam Baba.
  • Devotees engage in continuous bhajan, kirtan, and sankirtan yatra until midnight.
  • This is followed by a grand bhandara where thousands share prasad together.

Phalgun Mela

The Phalgun Mela at Khatu Dham, Rajasthan, is one of the largest gatherings of Shyam devotees worldwide. Pilgrims walk miles singing “Shyam Baba hare ka Sahara” in unison, filling the air with devotion and surrender.

ISKASHYAM organizes yatra groups, kirtan mandalis, and seva camps to support devotees on this pilgrimage, making the journey both spiritual and joyous.

Diwali (Deepotsav)

For ISKASHYAM devotees, Diwali is celebrated as the festival of inner light welcoming Shri Shyam Baba into the home and heart. Thousands of diyas (lamps) are lit to signify the victory of surrender over ego, and faith over fear.

Holi (Rang Leela)

Holi is celebrated as a festival of colors and devotion, signifying the playfulness of Shyam Baba. Devotees gather for bhajans, dholak, dance, and joyful color play, re-enacting the divine pastimes of Krishna and Shyam.

Holi with Shyam is not just about colors it is about immersing in the colors of devotion, equality, and joy, breaking all barriers of caste, creed, and status.

These festivals are not just rituals but expressions of divine love. Each celebration is an opportunity
to strengthen faith, deepen surrender, and spread Shyam Baba’s message:
Where there is surrender, there is Shyam’s shelter.
